Imagine Me: Bedroom Makeovers

“Imagine Me” Bedroom Makeovers, were inspired by Brittiana Henderson who battled cancer for three years. During her initial three week hospital stay, her physical and social activities were limited due to treatments that compromised her immune system and increased odds of infection. Brittiana’s parents knew how important home was for her, and they decided to do something extra special. Once she returned home, she was greeted to a complete room makeover with custom designs, and a sun flower theme. Overwhelmed with excitement, Brittiana’s words to her parents were “wow, this is such a great surprise, I think every child should get this when they return home from the hospital”.

BCI’s goal is to transition Brittiana’s dream into a reality by offering an “Imagine Me” bedroom makeover to terminally ill children. With so many opportunities stripped away from a child with cancer, a custom designed room makeover is a way to allow a child’s imagination to run wild, while distracting them from the emotions and pain of their illness and creating a space of comfort and excitement to call their own.

BrittiCares, has partnered with design teams, artist, carpenters, and contractors to create an unthinkable dream space for the patients to enjoy. Each room will be predicated on a theme of the patients choice, and will include (as needed), custom furniture, fixtures, flooring (wipe-able surfaces only) window treatments, murals, bedding, games, books, a journal, electronics, pajamas, and more. “Imagine Me” Bedroom Makeovers are uplifting, and inspiring for all involved.
